Wade Davis, an anthropologist, ethnobotanist, author and photographer, needed a working space that could easily be used in all his roles as well as accommodate all his books. So he got Travis Price Architects to design this floating round library. The library is accessed by a ladder and hovers above the working space, leaving the actual space free from clutter and mess.

We all know about the great work done by Blanket ID so when they go crazy for dog accessories, you know there is something about the product that you should take notice of. The collars, leads and clothing from Milk & Pepper made the guys at Blanket ID sit up and beg, and when I saw what they had to offer, I was wriggling with joy too!
When your husband loves something as much as Ashley‘s husband loves playing the guitar, it would make sense that he would want to share it with his children. Steve a.k.a Mister Make It and Love It, made these brilliant cardboard guitars for his two elder kids to strum on while he got out his own guitar. With rubber bands stretched across the body and neck, these guitars make enough sound to get your kids rocking and rolling all night long.

If you have ever stained floors or a piece of furniture and looked at the label, you will have seen the long list of horrible chemicals they put into stains to give them their colour and staying power. The Money Pit has a list of household items that you probably already have in your cupboard that can be used instead of the chemical-laden shop bought stains. The colours can be just as vibrant as stains from your hardware, but they are easier on the environment and easier on your allergies.

Hoerbert is a wooden Mp3 player especially designed for children, with adults more and more familiar with technology, it’s no surprise that children are becoming familiar with using Mp3′s at a very early age. So how do you protect your own expensive electronics from slobber and suspicious stickiness? You get them their own Mp3 player, and that is what the Hoerbert is.
When Mike Schropp looked around his basement, he found it over run with computer parts, gadgets and LEGO, so he decided to introduce a bit of nature into his immediate environment. Mike was a loss as to how he would do this, until the idea of using the heat from his computer motors to germinate wheat grass came to him. So like any mad scientists from the comics, he began taking a computer tower apart, to modify and rearrange so that he could grow wheat grass in his Bio-computer.

I absolutely love the idea of taking what you would normally throw away and making it into a functional piece of furniture or art in your home. So when I saw this, I was smitten! The lamp was made using discarded soda pop ring pulls, bent and manipulated to interlock with each other to frame the shade. The site is in Chinese, but the pictures are fairly easy and self explanatory.
